Less than two years ago, Anheuser-Busch was threatened with legal action after US brewer DG Yingling & Son stole one of the global company's slogans and used it on social media.
The 100% American-owned Pennsylvania brewery sent a cease-and-desist letter to Anheuser-Busch in December 2021 after unveiling its zero-carb Bud Light online. Get ready for the next generation of beer. "
Yuengling previously used the term "new generation light beer" for its 95-calorie flight beer.
In a tweet posted on December 15, 2021, Yuengling's social media team wrote directly to Bud Light.
The tweet included an image of a theft and read, "@budlight We know fake is the best kind of fake, but this is taking it too far."
Bud Light's original post has been deleted.
According to Newsweek, this is because Yingling threatened legal action and voluntarily deleted all social media posts calling its non-carbonated beers "new generation drinks".

Yungling filed the sentence a year ago.
In a statement to Newsweek, Yungling spokesman Paul Cappelli said Anheuser-Busch risked confusing customers.
“Yungling Flight is one of our flagship brands. It's one of our fastest growing brands,” said Cappelli. “We have developed this great product and it is clear to the consumer that another lager is going to take our slogan and put it on their brand.
A dispute between the world's largest beer company and a small veteran brewery in Pottsville, Pennsylvania has been resolved without a formal hearing.
But defending the Yuengling brand wasn't the last time the brewer launched accusations against Anheuser-Busch online.
Four weeks later, Yuengling responded to an announcement from Anheuser-Busch that the company had copied the eagle logo.
The self-proclaimed beer king updated his image, prompting a quick response from Yuengling on Twitter.
The company tweeted its familiar eagle logo alongside the contestant's updated bird, writing, "Cool new eagle. We are happy. Founded in 1829, Yuengling is America's oldest brewery.
Bud Light is currently facing a longstanding boycott from customers over its decision to work with transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
As the saga unfolded over the past few weeks, Yungling quietly expanded her presence across the country — from her base in western Pennsylvania.
The beer has been available in Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma for a few weeks, according to The Oklahoman.
Along with Yuengling's relentless westward expansion comes the loss of Anheuser-Busch customers.
But entry into new markets has been underway since last year.
A major retailer official told the Western Journal that Yingling was disappearing from store shelves.
