People can remove yellow stains from their cushions with an Asda kit that costs less than 4p.

While families are advised to wash pillows at least twice a year, getting rid of yellow stains on pillows can be difficult. These areas are caused by sweat.

But the more a person sweats, the more moisture from the pillow case gets into the pillow, causing stains. People with oily hair or those who sleep with wet or damp hair may get yellow spots on the pillow.

Fans of the cleaning sensation have turned to cleaning pages to share Ms. Hench's tips on washing pillows and removing stains. "Add detergent tablets to the washing machine after washing your pillow any other way and it shines," writes Mandy Williams-Moss.

Stephen Reeder replied: "Nothing has given me better results than cleaning my pillow than a dishwashing tablet." Dishwashing tablets not only have effective cleaning results, but are also affordable products that can be found in the kitchen.

You can buy a pack of 30 dishwasher tablets from Asda for £1.34. According to Liverpool Echo, the tablet will come in at just 4p.
