- Josh King Madrid, founder of NFTMmagazine.com, was the first marketer in the world to use chatbots with Instagram DM automation.
- In 2019, Josh volunteered as an early adopter of a software prototype that used keyword and hashtag chatbots on Instagram to build lists and drive engagement with the founder of the software, who originally introduced Josh to digital marketing in 2016.
- Originally from a small town called Menifee, he moved to Irvine to attend UCI before dropping out to focus on creating content and generating leads on social media to sell products and services online.
In 2017, Josh King Madrid dropped out of college after only four months at the University of California, Irvine. He earned $27,000 that month. Just 6 months ago, he was sleeping on his parents couch researching if these internet money making ads were really "real" and if so, was it possible for him?
“I remember joining a Facebook group for digital marketers and within 5 minutes I got a notification on Facebook Messenger and 5 minutes later I said, “Welcome to the group, mate. I just joined too. Let me know if you have any questions about digital marketing.”
At the time, 18-year-old Josh had many questions about starting an online business through social media. And just 30 minutes later, Josh decided to invest in his first online marketing tool. It's Online Sales Pro, a sales funnel and lead generation tool with a mobile app. Josh said: "If the company wasn't on the App Store, I would never have believed it was legit."
He spent $297 of his last $305 to start. He started looking for blogs, videos and stories from other successful marketers who have used this social media app to become successful. In his first month, he worked 14 hours a day and earned $80 as a student using the online pseudonym "JetSet." Six months later, he made $8,000 on his first day, and by December 2016, over $27,000. That's when he decided it was time to give up.
At 18, he moved into a four-bedroom penthouse near campus for about $4,000 a month and rented his old dorm to one of his Sigma Pi fraternities for $800 a month. Over the next few years, Josh continued to reinvest his earnings into growing his personal brand on Instagram with tens of thousands of followers each month.
It was December 2018 and Josh was planning a business conference for 750 people in Las Vegas over 100 days. He brings together 40 renowned industry experts as speakers and works on his sales funnel every day. Josh said: “I had planned for a quick sell-out as soon as I launched my channel, but no one bought, even when a well-known industry speaker announced that only 50 people had bought tickets and there were only 45 days until my conference. A week later, Josh got a call. It was Jeff, his old friend from Facebook, who introduced him to digital marketing in 2016, and he wanted to make a deal. At the time, Josh wasn't interested in hearing the news of the sale. He is not the digital marketing novice that Jeff once knew. she receives more than 1000 Instagram direct messages from her fans and followers a day. Josh is a highly sought after internet celebrity entrepreneur known as "JetSet" in the digital marketing industry.
Jeff didn't know it at the time, but it had an impact because JetSet had a problem, they were at six points for their conference and still had 700 tickets to sell; So far, he's even struggled to sell 50 of them. .
Jeff offered JetSet a deal to become the world's first beta tester for his soon-to-be-released chatbot software for just a $2,000 upfront fee, enough to cover development costs.
Josh liked the idea, but was afraid it would ruin his Instagram account. No one in the world has ever sold an Instagram DM chatbot before, and Jeff just tested it using his own account to send 50-70 messages a day to his personal account with several thousand followers. JetSet has over 320,000 subscribers, but at this point, so close to the event, they're willing to try anything.
So JetSet accepted Jeff's offer, paid the development fee, and in return was able to use the software to create an AI (Automated Interactive) messaging chatbot. This will be the first use of a conversational chatbot funnel and social CRM for Instagram. The campaign was a huge success and became a positive use case for the power of Instagram DM automation.
Josh eventually built over 11,000 connections and responded to 50,000 direct messages per day (at which point they discovered the account could send/reply to a limit of about 50,000 per day). Not only was he the first marketer in the world to use Instagram's DM chatbots, but his "beta tests" eventually resulted in a conversational chatbot stream that would sell his remaining 750 tickets in just 23 days of launch. . The AI chatbot has generated over $5 million in total revenue for JetSet.
Josh became an expert in the digital marketing industry as the first user of a software prototype that used keyword and hashtag chatbots on Instagram to build lists and drive signups. I didn't know it at the beginning of 2019, but their marketing campaign is changing the way brands and businesses sell on Instagram. A few months after Josh used the chatbot for his conferences, Instagram introduced Instagram direct message advertising. Within a year, Jeff convinced the Nelk Boys, Tony Robbins, Grant Cardone and other internet celebrities to come onto his platform and use Instagram DM automation for their digital marketing initiatives.
Josh said: “I am grateful and honored that my lecture can be used as a conversational chatbot marketer case study. Since then I decided to get certified in NLP and Neuromarketing to improve my conversational marketing skills, my sales have skyrocketed. it again, but bigger."
Josh remembers. "I knew it was risky, but I was 20 years old and I had a dream I was committed to and a friend I trusted."
Josh admits that the Instagram DM automation tech startup is no more today, replaced by software giants Mobile Monkey and Manychat.
Josh, now 24, says he's made more than $20 million in online sales using an AI chatbot and admits he's been recognized as a power user by Manychat, where he uses the same type of marketing campaign. Sell 5 client NFT projects and generate a total of 200,000 leads from Q4 2021 to Q3 2022. "My goal is to continually improve and push the boundaries of what's possible in the digital marketing world with conversational chatbots," he said. He explains that his strength lies in figuring out what it takes to build relationships through DMs and understanding the art of applying psychology to his example, using automation to make DM conversations personal, as he says it's hard to put it all together. . in your head and stay organized.
