Daniel Farke Identifies Key Leeds United Change Needed For Promotion Fight | OneFootball

Daniel Farke has revealed what needs to change at Leeds United to be competitive next season.

The whites were relegated after three seasons in the top flight.

Leeds finished 19th in the Premier League table and were five points behind safety Sam Allardyce.

Allardyce left the Yorkshire club at the end of the season, and Farke became the new manager of Leeds.

The German has led two promotions from the Second Division in his career, both times to Norwich City.

What did Daniel Farke say about Leeds United's promotion chances?

Farke will bet on a good performance at Elland Road thanks to his past at this level and his desire to play again in the Premier League.

The 46-year-old emphasized that for the team to win regularly again, it is necessary to change the mentality.

"Obviously I know the league inside and out," said Farke of the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“I spent almost five years in English football, last year in the Bundesliga, but I know exactly what it takes to be successful [in the league].

"I think I can say that. The Premier League is the best league in the world and I would also say it's the best league in the world."

“But the league is the most difficult championship.

“Almost all the teams want to be there and fight for promotion, the playoffs.

“And there are so many games to deliver every three days, plus two cup races, so it's a marathon.

“Especially after relegation, it's also good to know what happens to Norwich after relegation, because in this difficult year you get used to losing football games and you have to change your attitude.

“Winning should more or less become a habit.

“Creating that attitude and atmosphere will be very important after some pretty difficult times in recent months, and let's be honest, the last few years have not been easy.

“We need to change the way we think a bit so that winning becomes a habit.”

"I hope that the experience of English football, especially at the league level, will help me recreate that environment."

Leeds' promotion bid begins against Cardiff City at Elland Road on August 6.

Do Leeds United have what it takes to grow?

Farke's pedigree at this level is exceptional and makes him the perfect man to lead Leeds back to the top flight.

However, there is still a lot of work to be done on the transfer market before a final forecast can be made on the club's promotion prospects.

Leeds are expected to participate but at the end of the season we are in for some very tough competition with many clubs fighting for the top two and sixth places.

This makes the transfer deal important as Leeds cannot make mistakes in their squad for next season.
