EVMC is the only conference marketing and resource for hundreds of marketers and event organizers worldwide. The next event is scheduled for June 5-7, 2024 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver; Registration for next year is open.

"For more than four decades, EAMC has brought together professionals from around the world to network and exchange ideas for the live sports and entertainment industries," said EVMC President Kim Allen in a statement. "As the conference continues to evolve, we felt the time was right to update the branding to reflect our diverse mix of attendees, who represent venues of all sizes with a mission to foster education, collaboration and innovation."

The goal of the EVMC name change is to create a more inclusive event professional conference, representing everything from stadiums to amphitheaters, clubs to live events. While the annual conference content covers many areas, including marketing, sales, public relations, and social media, it will focus more on different types of venues in the coming years.

The conference began in 1980 when ten arena marketers gathered at the Met Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota to brainstorm and discuss industry issues at the first official meeting of the Arena Sales and Marketing Conference. In 1999, the conference became an association and became the Arena Marketing Conference, Inc. name: In 2001, the organization was recognized as a non-profit organization, and in 2004, the name was changed to Event & Arena Marketing Conference.

Since then, the conference has visited locations in North America annually and has attracted around 500 participants. Over the years, the conference has added a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) committee, a LEAD mentorship program, awards lunches, and launched a twice-weekly podcast called Adventures In Venueland .

Unlike other conferences, EVMC is run entirely by industry volunteers with the shared goal of connecting, learning, and driving innovation in live entertainment.
