United States international Dyke opened the scoring in the eighth minute when Jade Wallace came on and John Swift was the provider two minutes later as Dyke gave Albion a cushion.
In early form, Boro were relatively tame in the final third and now sit seven points clear of the second-placed Blades at 2-0.
The opening goal was good. Swift took the ball from the left and laid it to the side of Wallace, who held onto his run to avoid an offside flag. The center was improved under the direction of his compatriot Jacques Steffen.
Things immediately improved for the Americans with another well-crafted move - this time it was Wallace who found Swift and put him on the dice. It took him two tries to beat Stephen in goal.
The top-flight visitors began to settle after the opening strike and applied pressure around the home penalty, but Albion were still out of reach.
In fact, it is likely that a third goal will be added. Wallace had a chance at the back post after good work from Grady Diangana and Conor Townsend and Dyke almost completed the hat-trick when he deflected Jonny Howson's alert ball wide.
With the division's top scorer in Chuba Akpome, Boro finally tested young goalkeeper Josh Griffiths when Marcus Force fired a powerful shot into the top corner. Griffiths managed to hit it against the post. Akpam then opened the scoring with a header.
The match should have ended less than five minutes into the second half. Substitute Mark Albrighton found Dyke's back in the box and slotted past Paddy McNair before beating the last man.
Only for Steffen to beat, the keeper made a great save with his legs to deny.
It was soon seen that the fallen McNair needed treatment and after a long rest he was carried away on a stretcher to the cheers of two supporters.
West Brom captain Dara O'Shea went close when he curled in a corner from the right, but his effort hit the post.
In comparison, Boro still saw plenty of the ball but were largely kept out by the Baggies' defense - and again with Griffiths at the back post to deny Izzy Jones in stoppage time.
