Petrol Prices Continue To Drop As Teesside's Cheapest 15 Stations All Now Below 160p Per Litre

Fuel prices at Teesside's cheapest stations have hit another milestone as the cost of refueling falls.

Petrol and diesel prices soared to record highs earlier this year, with the lowest price in Middlesbrough jumping from 144.9p to 185.9p between early March and early July. Gasoline has been the cost of living that has affected Tessier in recent months, but fortunately, prices continue to drop.

Another milestone was reached this week, with the 15 cheapest petrol stations within 10 miles of Middlesbrough costing less than 160p per liter for the first time since late April and early May. This information is based on comparison site Petrolprices.com, which tracks fuel prices nationwide.

Signs of falling prices began to emerge at the end of July, when supermarket giant Asda announced a 5p cut in petrol prices. Shortly after mid-August, the price of a pump at Hartlepool station fell by 10p in a week, as other stations began to cut prices.

TCCD is sure to be excited to hear the news about cheap gas. A father from Ingleby Barwick told Teesside Live in June that because of the high prices at the time, people were "starting to make decisions about when to take the car, when to fill it up or whatever".
